Biography
Dr. Stephannie Gay Fuscablo-Valdez is the former Chief Resident (2025) of the Department of Pediatrics at Southern Philippines Medical Center and was awarded the Most Outstanding Resident during her residency graduation. She is actively involved in pediatric training, fellowship program development, administrative leadership, and institutional growth, with a strong interest in advancing medical education and simulation-based learning. She has competed in intradepartmental case presentations and research protocol contests, earning top recognition, and presented her case report at the 2024 Asia Pacific Congress of Pediatrics.
She completed her pre-medicine degree in Bachelor of Medical Technology, passed the board examination, and pursued her medical degree at Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital, graduating as Top 9 of her class. She also completed a one-month observership at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was granted an observership opportunity at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Fuscablo-Valdez is deeply grateful for this opportunity, which she believes will strengthen her professional development and contribute to improved care for children
